The kids wanted to get Nannie some Koi fish for her birthday (this was an idea they came up with all on their own). So Saturday morning we went to the Pet/Fish store and picked out new fishies for their pond, and then delivered them.

Ava watching her favorite fish, Ariel. She looked like she was wearing lip stick because she was mostly white with some black spots, and a bright orange dot right on her mouth.

And then we found one in the pond too

We went out to eat at Over the Moon Cafe to celebrate Nanie's bday. It was by far the fanciest place the kids have been (aside from Ava's bday tea). They did really well and raved about the food. Cristian even had to tell the waitress that the food was amazing!
Carter slept through most of the dinner, but when he woke up he was very interested in the light fixtures

The other present the kids wanted to surprise Nannie with was to spend the night with her! So the older two went home with Nannie after she opened her presents.
I found these cute wooden 4th of July decorative boxes to put her presents in. I'm kind of wanting some for myself now :-)

What a great birthday celebration for your mom! I had to smile when I read about C and A's b-day surprise of spending the night over at your parents' on her birthday, that's sweet. I bet that was fun for her.
