The Museum of Flight

Thursday my mom and I continued our Seattle City Pass tour at the Museum of Flight.
They had several video games where you could attempt to land an airplane or a space shuttle. The kids enjoyed trying all of these out!
Here they are inside the space exhibit... inside a portion of a real space ship.
Flying a helicoptor
Close up of Ava flying
Learning how hot air balloons work
Out on the main area of the museum they have a ton of different airplanes. Cristian was really excited to see a Blue Angel plane
They even had a small blue angel plane that the kids could fly. It moved right, left, and up and down.
Carter woke up about half way through our trip to the museum :)
Carter checking out all the airplanes
Three kids by a very old military airplane
Cristian watching some planes land at the air traffic control tower
View of Boeing's runway from the air traffic control tower. You can also see down town Seattle in the distance.
Astronaut Cristian
Astronaut Ava
and Astronaut Carter (he thought this was very funny!)
Cristian gets so excited any time he sees something from Paris
Cristian walking across the enclosed walk way (which goes over a very busy road) to another part of the museum. I just thought this picture looked cool
We got to walk through The Concord! This airplane can fly you to Europe in about half or maybe even 1/3 the usual flight time, and it is very expensive to fly on this plane. However, my mom and I agreed, if we're gonna spend that much money to fly to Europe... we'd rather fly first class on a big plane. I would go crazy in that close, cramped airplane. Just walking down the aisle way my arms touched both seats. I don't know how they'd fit a beverage cart down that aisle... in fact, they must not be able to. (and I am not a big person) There's only two seats on the left side, the aisle, then two seats on the right side.
This Air Force One plane belonged to Eisenhower and Roosevelt.
Here are the souvenirs they each picked out. Ava wanted this $1.50 pink, whirly gig thing. Cristian wanted an army jet.
Carter got this toy airplane that has a ball popper on the top. We had another FUN day in Seattle!!

That all looks so familiar. In fact, I think I have some of those same pictures only with different faces in them.:) We'd forgotten how much fun and how interesting that museum is. Glad you guys got to go.
