Happy Birthday Ava - 3 years old

Our very own, Hannah Montana
Ava rockin' out
Ava's big present from Mommy and Daddy was a Hannah Montana Guitar with an ear piece microphone
and a Hannah Montana keyboard with microphone.  She loved it.
Here are Cristian and Ava putting on a concert for Carter =)

A Day Fit for a Princess

Here's Ava all dressed up and ready for her special day!!
My mom made reservations at the Secret Garden Tea House for the three of us for her special day!  She was so excited to dress up like Fancy Nancy and go to a real tea party!!  Thanks Nannie for the special Tea party!
The Tea House with Nannie.
Smelling the pretty flowers.
Sitting down for Tea
She chose Tutti Fruitti Herbal tea
putting in a lump of sugar
When they brought out our freshly baked scones, they had one on a plate for her with a sparkler candle.
Mmm, she thought the scones were absolutely delicious.
And of course the fruit was a hit (except the kiwi and pineapple which irritate her skin)
Mommy and Ava.
Then Ava was treated to a manicure
She picked a really sparkly pink nail color.
And they even painted flowers on her thumbs

She also got 4 new bracelets that she wore around all day!  3 of them she picked out at the gift shop inside the Tea House, and the other one her friend Emma sent to her with a Birthday card.

Happy Birthday Ava!!

Thursday night I stayed up and wrapped presents...
First she opened up her presents from her brothers.Cristian got her a Spider Man dish set (because she's always wanting to use his)  She was beaming =)
And he also got her a Luke Skywalker action figure.
Carter got her 2 books (a star wars book and a tinker bell book) and an Obi Wan Kenobi action figure.
She also got some clothes, a bead bracelet/necklace making kit, a Blues Clues preschool computer game, and a Princess nail polish kit from Mommy and Daddy.

The Birthday Cake

Ava decided she wanted a Pink Darth Vader cake with raspberries and sprinkles =)  In the Organic section at Fred Meyer, we found PEANUT FREE cake mix and frosting.
Ava helping bake her cake.
So, mommy made pink frosting and put the raspberries around the cake... and daddy drew on darth vader with black frosting, and then he used purple sprinkles to fill in his mask.
The finished product =)

Happy Birthday Eve

Well, today is the last day my little Ava will be 2 years old.  I can hardly believe it.  She has quite the fun day planned tomorrow: getting a manicure, going to tea with Mommy and Nannie, making homemade pizzas for dinner.  Should be fun!!
Ava really enjoys coloring, and right now she is really into coloring things the color that they really are.  She no longer will pick up a purple crayon and color Donald Duck that color, because his clothes are blue,  his duck bill and feet are yellowish/orange, etc =)
Hard at work coloring Mickey and Minnie.

My Boys

Seems like Cristian has been gone when I've been taking pictures recently, so I snapped a couple of him today after we were done riding bikes and playing outside.  Can't believe this boy is going to be 6 years old in a couple months... and he has 2 wiggly front teeth =)
I had his hair fixed really cute today, styled and spikey.  It kinda got flattened out after wearing a bike helmet... should have thought to take the pictures sooner =)
Carter was being so cute in his stroller...  he got a kick out of watching the older two ride their bikes this afternoon.  As they were riding towards him he'd start cracking up, and then they'd turn around and ride away, and he just stared at them... and as soon as they made their way back, he'd start cracking up again.  I thought this was a cute little profile picture of him watching those big kids!
And a cute picture of him trying to eat his coat =)

It Feels Like Spring

My mom babysat Carter for me last Friday while I took the older two kids to a birthday party... and when I came home, she had planted three of my flower pots in my entry way with these beautiful spring flowers.  What a wonderful surprise!
I really like this color combo.
Something about these flowers always remind me of Alice In Wonderland =)
My favorite... PINK tulips!

Ava Starts Gymnastics

Ava had her first gymnastics class today. (aside from the parent/tot class she's done a couple of times)  I have to say, it was the cutest thing ever!  And she absolutely loved it!
There were only 4 kids in her class, and two teachers!  She got a lot of one-on-one attention.
Here she is kicking up to a handstand!
Doing a forward roll.
Getting ready to jump down onto the spring board and onto the green mat.  (a pre-vaulting drill)
Learning a cartwheel.
Ta-Da!  Big Gymnastics salute from Ava.
Here she is doing her stretch jumps on beam.
So concentrated!
Landing (and sticking) her jump =)  Ava's coaches raved about her... I believe their exact words were "She has an amazing natural talent"  Hmmm... looks like I might be spending a lot of time in a gym again the next several years.
